Sophia Scott: New Music & Upcoming UK Headlining Show

29th October 2024

It’s been a year full of momentum for Sophia Scott since she released her incredible debut album, ‘Barstool Confessions,’ last October. She’s toured across the US with Alana Springsteen, made her C2C debut in London this year; playing five sets across the three-day weekend before opening for Restless Road at London’s Lafayette and is currently back out on tour opening for Empire Nashville label-mate, Niko Moon. She also made her debut at the iconic Ryman Auditorium last month. All of which has contributed to Scott being named as one of Pandora’s ‘Artists to Watch’ for 2024.

For anyone unfamiliar with her music, Sophia is a little bit of Lainey Wilson, Kelly Clarkson and Fletcher rolled into one; blending authentic country melodies and storytelling with a contemporary sound and the ability to really belt out a raw, powerful vocal. If you are new to her music, ‘Barstool Confessions’ makes for a perfect starting point to acquaint yourself with one of Country’s most exciting emerging artists. However, in recent months, Scott has started to release new songs, soft launching her next era of music.

In June, she released ‘Wildflowers;’ an empowering up-tempo banger about rediscovering your joy after a heartbreak. Then last month she released the super sexy, ‘Buy A Round,’ which offers a more provocative, playful side to her personality as an artist. The foundations of this are on full display in earlier songs like ‘No You Didn’t’ and ‘Mullet Over’ but she’s reaching new levels of swagger and sass with ‘Buy A Round’ and it’s exciting to see that she’s playing around with different sounds. She’s never really been an artist that could be pigeonholed anyway, but it’s cool to see her continue to keep making big swings like this.

Earlier this month, she featured on ‘She’s Trouble’ with another Empire label-mate, Don Louis. The collaboration weaves a tale of a fiery, passionate Bonnie and Clyde style relationship: “Oh, baby, she's trouble. Star studded denim, those lips, full of venom, she's trouble. Two steppin' with the devil. She's wild, she's a rebel.”

The outlaw vibe is a theme which is doubled down on in its accompanying music video wherein both Louis and Scott separately interact with the same troublesome ‘devil’ who leads them on a crime spree that lands both in jail declaring “she’s trouble.”

Sophia will be playing her very first UK headlining show in London at Colours, Hoxton on December 3rd. The show’s already sold out, which is a testament to just how fantastic she is live. If you haven’t already managed to grab tickets, Sophia will be back over to the UK at least once in 2025 to headline the inaugural Roadhouse Weekender festival, which will run from July 4th - 6th and is shaping up to be an incredible event for country music fans.
