Then came one of the most emotional moments of the entire weekend.

Halfway through Waylon Wyatt's Riverfront Stage performance, after a duet that had the crowd roaring, Wyatt Flores broke the  news that nobody - including Waylon Wyatt himself - saw coming. In front of thousands of fans lining Nashville's riverfront, Flores officially invited the young singer-songwriter to make his Grand Ole Opry debut. The look of genuine disbelief quickly turned to tears of joy - quickly hidden behind his sunglasses - as the crowd erupted around him. Waylon looked to his team to ask if anyone had his dad on the phone to witness such a monumental milestone in his journey [they did] and it was genuinely touching moment. It wasn't rehearsed. It wasn't planned for social media. It was simply one artist celebrating another, and it perfectly embodied everything CMA Fest represents.

Elsewhere, Greylan James continued his transition from one of Nashville's most respected songwriters into a compelling performer in his own right, Mackenzie Carpenter's razor-sharp songwriting shone through and showcased how much of an emotive storyteller she is, Dasha brought infectious energy that had the whole Riverfront rockin', while Lanie Gardner's remarkable vocals left plenty of first-time listeners instantly converted. Chase Matthew waited until the final day of the festival to get the Riverfront jumpin' but the crowds were not too tired to give it everything they had in return and the exchange of energy was electric.

Drake Milligan - who is rightly becoming one of the genre's most exciting younger artists - brought his signature blend of traditional country cool with effortless charisma, Ashley Cooke looked every bit the future arena headliner many already believe she'll become, and Alexandra Kay's passionate fanbase demonstrated just how rapidly her star continues to rise. The Coffee Girl from Illinois played to a passionate crowd that clearly appreciated how far she's come from her TikTok coffee singalongs to once again playing country music's biggest festival.

One of the week's most memorable events happened away from the official CMA Fest schedule.

Alana Springsteen chose CMA Fest week to host an intimate launch celebration for her most personal album of her career to date. The Virginia Beach quadruple threat released her powerful sophomore album "I Hope This Helps" on May 29th - the same day she played The Grand Ole Opry, but saved the launch party for day 1 of CMA Fest with an intimate and exclusive performance at the new Vinyl Vault venue "hidden" inside Mel's Drive-In on Second Avenue. The afternoon was a beautiful exchange of music, memories and conversation shared between Alana, her team and some of her most loyal fans before playing to a packed-out crowd on the Riverfront Stage the following day. Although her launch party was not officially part of the festival programme, the timing couldn't have been more significant; when an artist chooses country music's biggest week to unveil such a deeply personal and vulnerable project, it speaks volumes about what CMA Fest means to the industry itself. It's become far more than a festival; it's the week when artists and fans truly come together to celebrate the music that brings us all together in the first place.
